Smiley Happy People, a reputable private nursery in Launceston and its surroundings, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join their team as a Childcare Apprentice at the Level 3 qualification level.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that values Forest School activities and provides individualized support to children aged 3 months to 6 years old.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide high-quality care and education to children in our nursery, fostering their cognitive, emotional, and physical development.
  2. Plan and implement engaging activities tailored to meet the unique needs of each child, ensuring seamless progression towards set goals.
  3. Support personal care tasks, including toileting and nappy changing, with compassion and understanding.
  4. Prepares nutritious meals and snacks, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  5. Maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring optimal hygiene standards.
  6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, promoting open communication and teamwork.

Requirements:

  • A minimum Level 2 Childcare qualification, with a passion for delivering exceptional childcare services.
  • A valid DBS clearance, demonstrating commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
  • GCSE grades A*-C or equivalent in Maths and English Language, ensuring excellent communication and numeracy skills.
  • A full driving license, facilitating easy transportation to and from work.

Working Hours:

  • Our nursery operates Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 18:00.
  • The successful candidate will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week, with flexible shift patterns to be discussed and agreed upon.

Estimated salary range £19,000-£22,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow professionally while making a meaningful difference in the lives of young children.
