About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Governance Specialist to lead secretariat support in governance and administrative functions. The successful candidate will join a small, high-performing team during a time of major reform introducing new legislation and a new governance structure.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver meetings and services for the Board.
  • Establish and implement corporate governance best practices to support and manage the Board.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to build effective relationships.
  • Provide high-quality advice to the Director on the work of the team, including management and quality assurance of complex Board papers and items.
  • Maintain records of board decisions and actions while ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Support other section members where required.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in leading secretariat services for Boards and senior committees.
  • Excellent judgement, strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality in all professional interactions.
  • Proven ability to effectively coordinate and manage committees, projects and competing workloads.
  • Excellent relationship management skills and ability to build and sustain strong networks and relationships.
