Job Overview

The primary objective of this role is to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of designated areas within our facilities, creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents.

This position involves collaborating with colleagues across the facility to foster strong communication and teamwork, ultimately supporting resident satisfaction and the successful delivery of housekeeping services.

We currently have 2 part-time positions available at Jesmond Grove covering a 7-day roster of AM + PM shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support residents by cleaning and maintaining all areas of the facility, ensuring high standards as set out in cleaning and infection control manuals
  • Interact effectively with residents, their families, and visitors to provide excellent service
  • Safely handle, clean, and use cleaning equipment and chemicals
  • Follow and complete the work schedule and duties of the shift rostered, including tasks such as mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and laundry duties
  • Communicate effectively with all employees to ensure teamwork and achievement of role objectives
  • Adhere to all safe work practices and WHS guidelines
  • Liaise with the Cleaning Team Leader to ensure timely and professional housekeeping services
  • Communicate empathetically and effectively with consumers and their relatives to meet their needs, undertaking all duties with customers' expectations in mind
  • Consult with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective communication with the Anglican Care team and external suppliers in all aspects of service delivery
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold residents' privacy
Requirements
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and within a team
  • Current NDIS Check
  • National Police Check (the Diocese considers the relevance of reported outcomes)
