Job Overview

This is a senior role for a digital news editor to work closely with our international news team in Sydney.

The successful candidate will produce key international stories from the Asia-Pacific region, edit Guardian's international sites, and monitor news wires. They will also liveblog news from the region and beyond as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing international news content from the Asia-Pacific region
  • Editing Guardian's international websites, including UK, US, International, and Europe editions
  • Monitoring news wires and liveblogging news from the region and beyond

What You'll Bring

The ideal candidate will have experience in subbing and digital production, good understanding of international news, and strong digital editing and curation skills.

They will also possess excellent communication skills, ability to edit copy quickly and accurately under pressure, flair for writing headlines, and excellent planning and organisational skills.

A passion for independent journalism and understanding of media law are essential for this role.
