About the Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Mathematics educator to join our team at a co-educational Catholic school in Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs.

This full-time role is ideal for a dedicated professional who is committed to fostering numeracy skills and mathematical thinking in students across Years 7-9, within a supportive and well-resourced learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive math curriculum that aligns with The Victorian Curriculum
  • Create engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively convey mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies
  • Provide timely feedback to students on their performance and progress in math
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students, including providing additional support or challenges as needed
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on best practices in math education, teaching methodologies, and curriculum development
  • Collaborate with other math teachers and school staff to share resources, ideas, and best practices

Requirements:

  • Must hold unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Current VIT registration is essential
  • Proven experience teaching secondary Maths in Australia/NZ
  • Commitment to supporting the Catholic Ethos of the school
  • Ability to provide two education-based references from the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable)
