Job Description

As a Community Support Assistant, you will provide direct care and support to older individuals, enabling them to maintain their independence in their homes.

  • Home care and domestic assistance such as cleaning and laundry
  • Meal preparation
  • Respite, social support, and companionship
  • Transport, shopping, and community access
  • Accompanying clients to appointments

About the Role

This position involves working with elderly people and their families. Ideally, you should have experience caring for individuals with specific care needs, including dementia and challenging behaviours.

A flexible approach to work and ability to work remotely and autonomously are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver home care and domestic assistance to ensure clients' comfort and well-being
  • Prepare meals to meet clients' dietary needs
  • Provide respite, social support, and companionship to alleviate isolation
  • Assist with transport, shopping, and community access to promote clients' engagement and participation
  • Accompany clients to appointments to ensure they receive necessary medical attention

Requirements

  • Australian Criminal History Check
  • Evidence of Flu and Covid Vaccinations
  • Victorian Employee Working with Children Check
  • Compliance with Child Safety standards
