Emergency Department Specialist

SA Health is seeking a highly skilled Emergency Department Consultant to join our team at Mount Gambier Hospital.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering clinical services of the highest standard, ensuring exceptional care for patients in the Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Excellence: Provide outstanding clinical services to Emergency Department patients, demonstrating leadership and a commitment to a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
- Crisis Management: Deliver expert medical care for inpatients experiencing clinical deterioration after hours, including Code Blue and Code Black situations.
- Professional Standards: Adhere to Regional, Hospital, and departmental policy manuals and documents, and maintain alignment with the standards of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.
- Education and Training: Engage actively in the teaching of trainee medical officers, interns, medical students, and where applicable, nursing and allied health professionals.
- Quality and Safety: Participate in clinical audits, quality, safety, and clinical risk management activities to continually improve patient care standards.
- Research and Development: Contribute to research initiatives and continuous medical education to advance knowledge and practices in Emergency Medicine.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, and be registerable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration.
