Expert Payment Strategist Role

The role of an Expert Payment Strategist involves collaborating closely with product managers, clients, and software development teams to define payment solutions that meet compliance requirements and enhance transaction processing capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the subject matter expert on card payments, with knowledge on EMV , Ecommerce, Fleet Cards, Loyalty Cards.
  • Familiarity for alternative payment options (e.g., digital wallets, BNPL etc).
  • Provide expertise in payment protocols such as ISO 8583, Nexo ISO2022, and proprietary acquirer-specific messaging formats.
  • Understanding the transaction lifecycle across issuers, acquirers, processors, and merchants.
  • Work closely with scheme rules (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, etc.), ensuring compliance with schemes such as EMV and PSD2/SCA regulations, PCI.
Key Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the payments industry.
  • Knowledge of protocols such as ISO 8583, Nexo, EMV, PCI-DSS, and alternative payment methods.
  • Experience working with acquirers, PSPs, and payment processors.
  • Hands-on experience with payment APIs, RESTful web services, and JSON/XML messaging.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., PSD2, SCA, AML).
