Anaesthetist Specialist

A highly skilled Anaesthetist is required to deliver high-quality anaesthetic services for various elective Surgical specialties including: Endoscopy, General Dentistry, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Orthopaedics, Paediatric Surgery, Urology, Vascular Surgery and other surgical specialties as may be introduced.
About the Role- The successful candidate will participate in a 24/7 roster to provide emergency services, including: anaesthetic services for emergency surgery, procedural expertise and support for ICU/CCU (e.g. intubation and vascular access) and resuscitation services such as Medical Emergency Team (MET) and Code Blue Calls.
- They will work closely with Head of Unit (HOU) and may be required to act in the HOU position during absences.
- The hospital provides acute services include a full time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, 3 operating theatres, day procedure unit, and oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and surgical services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.
- A primary medical qualification registrable with the Medical Practitioners Board (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent postgraduate clinical training, qualifications and experience assessed by the College as suitable for this position.
