The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Workshop Leading Hand to join our Mackay team. This role involves supervising workshop staff and ensuring all aspects of repair, build, or rebuild of components are completed. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the workshop area in accordance with requirements and assisting the Supervisor and Workshop Manager with staff performance, training, and skill sharing.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct all activities in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to policies, environmental management systems, and statutory regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to the Quality Assurance system and comply with all company policies, standards, specifications, and systems.
  • Take reasonable care to protect their own health and safety and the safety of others.
  • Present themselves for work in a fit state and operate any equipment they have the experience or training to work.
  • Perform their duties to the best of their ability and turn out work of a consistently high quality with minimal rework.
  • Carry out reasonable instructions given by their supervisor.
About You

To be considered for this position, you will ideally have:

  • Supervisory and team building skills.
  • Experience with Pronto.
  • High Risk Work License – Forklift and Dogging.
  • Mechanical and/or radiator knowledge (preferred).
  • Minimum 4 to 8 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience working in mining / manufacturing industry (preferred).
