About the Role

VetPartners Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Veterinary Anaesthesia Specialist to join their multidisciplinary team at Sydney Veterinary Emergency & Specialists (SVES) in Rosebery, NSW.

The successful candidate will be part of a leading network of hospitals comprising 260 general practice clinics and 12 referral sites across Australia and New Zealand, where patient care is at the heart of everything that we do.

SVES is a purpose-built, 1000m² facility providing state-of-the-art technology and exceptional care across our surgery, medicine, anaesthesia, imaging, dermatology, and oncology departments, as well as an established and experienced 24/7 emergency service.

As a key member of the SVES team, you will work collaboratively with specialists, interns, emergency vets, and nurses who are committed to delivering the highest level of service to our clients while advancing their careers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administration, adjustment, and monitoring of anaesthesia for patients during surgical procedures.
  • Pain management of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Identification and management of complications that occur in patients during surgical procedures.
  • Development and implementation of anaesthesia protocols for patients across various procedures.
  • Collaboration with a multi-disciplinary specialist team and provision of guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a board-qualified specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia or a registrar planning to sit for boards (FANZCVS/DECVAA/DACVAA) and hold a degree registerable within the state of New South Wales with at least two years of employment experience.
