We are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Toowoomba, specialising in engine repairs and maintenance.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering exceptional service to customers across various industries, including automotive, mining, and power generation
  • Completing repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel products, as well as attending to breakdowns in the field on an on-call roster
  • Diagnosing and repairing engines, inspecting and replacing components as required
  • Engine rebuilding and reconditioning

You will also be expected to ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, and report any issues or incidents to the Service Supervisor. Additionally, you will complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Mechanical trades qualification - Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Light vehicle mechanic, or plant mechanic with heavy experience
  • Experience as a technician in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products
  • Ideal possession of engine rebuild and reconditioning experience or knowledge
  • Hitachi, Komatsu, and Liebherr experience is highly desirable
  • Solid diagnostic capabilities with the help of systems on computers

This is a competitive hourly rate paid as a permanent salary, with a $5K sign-on bonus. Overtime penalties apply, and uniforms, further training, and participation in an annual variable compensation program are included. Income protection continuance insurance, discounts with select private health insurance, PC software/hardware, and vehicles are also offered. Annual remuneration reviews are conducted, and safety equipment/PPE and uniforms are provided.
