Role Summary:
The Financial Planning & Accounting (FP&A) Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the organization through the coordination, preparation, and reporting of precise and succinct analyses of the company's budgets and forecasts. This position aids in the formulation of the company's long-term financial strategies and annual operational plans, as well as the development of functional overhead budgets (both indirect and direct). The analyst is responsible for the preparation of monthly financial reports for each business unit, coordinating and clarifying monthly and year-to-date variances, and providing insightful analyses of business performance drivers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate monthly management reports for the organization, including financial reports, operational review packs, leadership finance reports, and functional overhead reports.
- Prepare financial metrics and analyses for management evaluations, including forecasting and performance analysis against budget and previous forecasts.
- Adhere to reporting deadlines on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis in line with the financial calendar.
- Implement process improvements by effectively utilizing core financial systems.
- Assist in the development of the Long-Range Financial Plan and Annual Operating Plan.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses as required.
- Possess a solid understanding of AUS Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting practices.
- Utilize foundational knowledge of key financial metrics and analyses to actively engage in planning and forecasting activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A University Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is essential.
- Theoretical to advanced knowledge of Finance or Accounting is necessary.
- Practical knowledge of projects, programs, or systems relevant to the business is required, with the ability to implement enhancements and leverage knowledge in daily operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to facilitate decision-making processes.
- Desirable qualifications include CPA, CA, or equivalent professional certifications.
- Experience with enterprise planning software, such as IBM Cognos TM1 (including TM1 Web), is advantageous.
