Job Summary:

Senior Control Systems Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned professional to support our client base and rapidly growing portfolio of works. The successful candidate will thrive in a flexible working environment and enjoy accelerated professional development through exposure to challenging work experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Consult with clients to establish requirements and scope of works.
  2. Design, develop, implement and commission high-quality engineering solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements.
  3. Identify and execute optimisation, tuning and efficiency improvements for process plants, mobile machines and fixed plant mining equipment to maximise plant efficiency, reliability, availability and throughput.
  4. Provide expert troubleshooting and technical support across various sites and business functions including Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and Project teams.
  5. Conduct proof testing and compliance auditing of electrical, instrumentation and control systems against asset integrity plans, standards and safety specifications.
  6. Travel to client Sites (within WA) for integration, commissioning and support activities as needed.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronic or similar).
  2. Minimum 5 years' relevant industry experience.
  3. Proficiency with major PLC/SCADA platforms (e.g. Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, Citect, Ignition).
  4. Strong technical proficiency with IEC 61131-3 standard programming languages (ie. LD, FBD, ST, SFC, etc.).
  5. Strong understanding of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.).
  6. Proven ability to work autonomously in remote and high-pressure environments.
  7. Sound knowledge of AS/NZS standards, functional safety, and site commissioning protocols.
  8. Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  9. Australian citizenship or valid Australian work visa.
  10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and formulate appropriate courses of action and recommendations.
  11. Client-focused with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  12. Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  13. Functional safety training and certification (TUV, FSEng, CFSP, CFSE, etc.).
  14. Experience with Allen-Bradley and Schneider PLCs.
  15. Experience with CitectSCADA and Ignition.
