Job Description

The primary function of this role is to perform a range of tasks in the concrete construction and maintenance team.

  • Maintaining high standards of professionalism, service and continuous improvement in the best interest of the community are essential.
  • Performing a variety of labouring activities including mixing and pouring concrete, laying pipes, boxing up culverts, stone pitching, steel reinforcements, form work as directed, traffic control (as authorised) and preparing work sites in accordance with traffic and other management plans.
  • Ensuring that all plant and equipment are well maintained, tidy and secured at all times.
  • Providing high level of customer service on behalf of the employer ensuring a positive reflection with members of the public is maintained.
  • Developing and maintaining positive communications between departments and teams.
  • Sharing knowledge and skills between team members.
  • Completion of paperwork and submitted on time including accurate timesheets with job costing codes and health and safety related items.
  • Maintaining currency of licences/tickets for duration of employment as required to undertake allocated work tasks/activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring safe operation of plant/fleet as licenced and verified to operate and undertaking activities up to and including engaged level as per the relevant award.

• Performing hands on labouring activities within concrete construction and maintenance.

• Undertaking work activities as directed to achieve Council Operational and Strategic Plans- Maintenance of assigned plant/fleet and work cohesively with workshop in maintaining plant/fleet- Ensuring all daily checks of plant/fleet are completed and advising of repairs/maintenance requirements- Ensuring plant/fleet are well presented, tidy and secured.

• Provide high level of customer service on behalf of Council ensuring a positive reflection with members of the public is maintained- Develop and maintain positive communications between Council departments and teams including participation in team/Council meetings- Sharing of knowledge and skills between team members.

• Completion of paperwork and submitted on time including accurate timesheets with job costing codes and health and safety related items.
