We are looking for an experienced leader to join our team at one of our Fulfillment Centers in Australia.

Job Overview

The Maintenance and Engineering Manager will lead a team of up to 10 maintenance professionals, including supervisors and technicians. This role requires strong leadership skills, with a focus on safety, equipment availability, and process improvement.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in leading teams, delivering results, and driving business growth. They will be responsible for implementing preventative maintenance programs, managing projects, and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the maintenance team to ensure site operations are safe, efficient, and effective
  • Work closely with the wider network to harness technical expertise and build solutions
  • Support the Senior Maintenance and Engineering Manager in implementing safety and statutory compliance programs
  • Implement network standards and focus on preventative maintenance to ensure high equipment availability
  • Manage local and national projects as assigned by the Senior Maintenance and Engineering Manager
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, particularly in a fast-paced industrial environment
  • Experience delivering leadership to a team of direct reports, with an emphasis on growth and development, and team member engagement
  • Formal trade qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil)
  • Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines
  • Experience working with automated equipment, including packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems
  • Experience liaising and managing relationships between various stakeholders, including third-party vendors
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, we would welcome applicants with additional experience in:

  • Working with statutory regulations, such as compliance checks and machine safety protocols
  • Using data analysis tools and PLC-based control systems
  • Project management, Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma processes
  • Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
