Job Opportunity: Cost Controller | Operational Finance Role

This is a key position for an accounting professional with commercial acumen and passion for operational finance. Proven experience in manufacturing environments is essential.

About The Position

As a Cost Controller, you will provide critical financial insights to support manufacturing operations and performance. Your responsibilities include identifying cost-saving opportunities, process improvements, and partnering with operational teams to drive efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and deliver accurate cost reports, including P&L, variance analysis, and commentary for manufacturing operations.
  2. Analyse and monitor standard costs, labour, material usage, and overheads, identifying variances and improvement opportunities.
  3. Partner with operational teams to provide financial insights that drive cost control, efficiency, and performance outcomes.
  4. Support budgeting and forecasting processes for manufacturing cost centres and operational planning.
  5. Perform month-end close activities, including journals, reconciliations, and internal reporting in line with business timelines.
Requirements
  1. Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance, and CA/CPA qualified.
  2. Proven experience in cost accounting or manufacturing finance roles.
  3. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a process improvement mindset.
  4. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  5. Proficient in Excel and ERP systems; SAP experience highly regarded.
