The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Advisor to join our Policy, Practice, and Research Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-level policy advice and conducting complex analysis to inform our policy development and advocacy efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies, guidelines, and submissions related to psychiatry and mental health in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Conduct advanced research in mental health policy, health systems, and regulations to inform policy development.
  • Create written and oral policy briefs for senior stakeholders, including the RANZCP President and CEO.
  • Support the development of culturally safe and inclusive consultation processes to ensure policy reflects the needs of diverse communities.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Policy Advisor with a strong background in mental health policy development and analysis. You will have a proven track record of applying theoretical knowledge of policy levers, including funding models, legislation, and regulatory standards.

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a field related to mental health or policy.
  • Proven experience in policy development and analysis, with a focus on mental health.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $79,900 to $99,900, inclusive of superannuation and leave loading. Our benefits package includes:

  • Monthly free day off.
  • Flexible and hybrid working conditions, with 2 days in office and 3 days from home.
  • 12 weeks paid parental leave for both primary and secondary carers.
