Forensic Chemistry Manager

The role of the Forensic Chemistry Manager is pivotal in ensuring efficient, timely, and high-quality forensic casework from the Chemistry Group. This involves meeting client expectations, organizational priorities, and service standards that provide crucial support to the operation of the justice system in South Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of professionals covering various forensic disciplines, including illicit drugs, clandestine laboratories, cannabis, trace evidence, and document examination.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality results through effective management and leadership.
  • Collaborate with other scientific/medico-legal operational areas to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Business Context:

Our organization provides comprehensive services to agencies associated with the justice system, including the State Coroner, South Australia Police (SAPOL), the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), and defence and civil litigants.

Requirements:
  • Postgraduate degree in chemistry or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading teams and managing complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of forensic science principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
