The Military Provost Guard Service is a key component of the UK's military security. It provides armed guards to protect Royal Navy, Army, RAF and MOD bases across the UK mainland. Our primary objective is to counter the terrorist threat posed to these bases.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Security incident management: handling suspicious packages, bomb threats, protests, etc.
  • Patrolling site perimeters: taking necessary action to preserve perimeter security
  • Controlling entry and exit: managing control room and gate operations, ensuring efficient visitor handling
  • Military Working Dog services at selected sites

We have units located at over 120 sites across the UK mainland. Our soldiers can choose where they wish to serve, provided there is a vacancy.
Requirements:
  • Background: at least 3 years prior military service or currently serving in any arm of the British Military
  • Age: over 18 years and under 57 years at re-enlistment
  • Fitness Eligibility: medically fit with a Body Mass Index below 32
  • Driving Licence: full UK driving licence with less than 8 penalty points
  • Previous Service Check: previous service records will be checked, final authorisation required from the Army Personnel Centre
