Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Actuarial Analyst to join our team. As an Actuarial Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting business units in obtaining and managing a profitable business. Your expertise will be utilized to perform actuarial calculations and provide data analysis support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pricing Analysis: You will apply actuarial and statistical pricing techniques to develop and implement pricing strategies that align with the company's goals.
  • Data Analysis: Carry out data analysis and take responsibility for specific outputs to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Reasonableness Checks: Apply reasonableness checks and sound judgment to pricing outputs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Pricing Impact Assessment: Assess the impact of pricing on key profit drivers and performance metrics to inform business decisions.
  • Pricing Recommendations: Draft pricing recommendations to be peer reviewed by senior actuaries to ensure alignment with company policies.
  • Rating Deployment: Take end-to-end responsibility for rating deployment, working closely with the Pricing Implementation Team.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend changes to existing pricing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Your Profile

  • Background: You should have sound knowledge and experience from a General Insurance pricing background or an actuarial-related tertiary qualification.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with SAS and Python is preferred but not essential.
  • Statistical Techniques: Ability to apply a range of statistical and actuarial techniques to solve technical pricing problems.
  • Data Extraction and Analysis: Ability to extract, analyze, and interpret data from several sources and resolve complex issues.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, including explaining complicated concepts in a simple way.
