Senior Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Mackay. The successful candidate will have a strong background in structural design, analysis, and project delivery.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for undertaking structural design, including computer-based analysis of mining, marine, and transport infrastructure structures with concrete and steelwork.

You will work on critical projects with a focus on safety and quality, acting as client contact as appointed for specific projects, conducting condition assessments, audits, and surveys, and liaising with staff members in other offices.

The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years' experience working on construction projects within the mining, marine, and transport infrastructure sectors, with advanced knowledge and experience in using structural analysis software packages such as SpaceGas and Strand7.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake structural design, including computer-based analysis of mining, marine, and transport infrastructure structures with concrete and steelwork.
  • Work on critical projects with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Acting as client contact as appointed for specific projects.
  • Conduct condition assessments, audits, and surveys.
  • Liaise with staff members in other offices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • At least 8 years' industry experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in using structural analysis software packages such as SpaceGas and Strand7.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in structural design, analysis, client/stakeholder management, and project delivery.
  • Understanding and/or experience on major construction projects.
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Be currently residing in Australia and have unrestricted working rights.
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English to a professional level.
