Job Opportunity: Control Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects, utilising their technical expertise to design, develop and implement high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Client Consultation: Work closely with clients to establish project requirements and scope of works.
  2. Solution Design and Development: Take a leading role in the design, development, implementation and commissioning of high-quality engineering solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  3. Process Optimisation: Identify and execute optimisation, tuning and efficiency improvements for process plants, mobile machines and fixed plant mining equipment to maximise plant efficiency, reliability, availability and throughput.
  4. Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Provide expert troubleshooting and technical support across various sites and business functions including Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and Project teams.
  5. Auditing and Compliance: Conduct proof testing and compliance auditing of electrical, instrumentation and control systems against asset integrity plans, standards and safety specifications.
  6. Site Integration and Commissioning: Travel to client Sites (within WA) for integration, commissioning and support activities as required.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronic or similar)
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' relevant industry experience
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with major PLC/SCADA platforms (e.g. Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, Citect, Ignition)
  • Programming Languages: Strong technical proficiency with IEC 61131-3 standard programming languages (ie. LD, FBD, ST, SFC, etc.)
  • Industrial Networks: Strong understanding of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.)
  • Autonomy and Pressure: Proven ability to work autonomously in remote and high-pressure environments
  • Standards and Protocols: Sound knowledge of AS/NZS standards, functional safety, and site commissioning protocols
  • Communication Skills: Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
  • Citizenship or Visa: Australian citizenship or valid Australian work visa
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and formulate appropriate courses of action and recommendations
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Functional Safety Training: Functional safety training and certification (TUV, FSEng, CFSP, CFSE, etc.)
  • PLC and SCADA Experience: Experience with Allen-Bradley and Schneider PLCs and CitectSCADA and Ignition
