Concentis is collaborating with a leading Mining Asset Owner in search of a dedicated and skilled Mechanical Engineer to oversee the operational management of a wastewater treatment facility at a remote mining location. Your role will involve delivering mechanical engineering expertise to pinpoint enhancement opportunities and execute a range of capital and maintenance initiatives aimed at optimizing the performance of this critical asset. This position entails travel to a remote mining site on a rotational schedule.
Key Responsibilities:- Identify and propose enhancement projects
- Oversee small-scale capital and operational projects from inception to completion
- Provide mechanical engineering guidance for the wastewater treatment plant and associated infrastructure (including pumps, piping, and storage tanks)
- Engage in defect resolution efforts, advising on project and maintenance strategies, repairs, and modifications for equipment
- Offer engineering and technical assistance to project construction teams and site leaders as necessary
- Review and uphold standards for design, construction, and maintenance practices
- Promote a culture of safety and behaviors that reflect the company's values
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Demonstrated experience in fixed plant operations within the mining, oil & gas, or heavy industry sectors
- Familiarity with wet processing plants, pumps, piping systems, and/or wastewater treatment is highly advantageous
- Proven track record in managing multiple capital and operational projects simultaneously, with a comprehensive understanding of project deliverables
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with effective stakeholder management capabilities
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and contractor management
- Knowledge of reliability and maintenance processes
