About the Position

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead our basketball program, developing players and coaches while promoting the School's initiatives.

Key responsibilities include coordinating basketball programs across the School, managing fixtures, training, budgets, and communication. Community engagement, player development, and providing pathways for talented students are significant focuses, with additional duties as First Head Coach.

Selection Criteria:

  1. High Performance Coaching Experience: A minimum of five years of high performance coaching experience is required, including expertise in developing players across various skill levels, with a focus on school or representative-level basketball. Examples of successful teams led, player talent developed, and long-term development strategies implemented should be provided.
  2. Coaching Accreditation and Compliance: Current coaching accreditation and a valid Positive Notice (Blue Card) are necessary. Explain how qualifications and experience adhere to Queensland's compliance requirements, ensuring safe and professional environments for students and players.
  3. Leadership and Player Development: Motivate, lead, and inspire players and coaching staff with examples of building cohesive teams, developing leadership qualities in players, and offering advanced skills development across different age groups.
  4. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Advanced communication and negotiation skills are essential, including experience in managing relationships with students, parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
  5. Program Coordination and Administration: Detail experience in coordinating basketball programs, including planning training schedules, fixtures, tournaments, and camps. Provide examples of managing multiple tasks, including budget oversight, facilities management, and liaising with referees, coaches, and associations.
  6. Technology and Administrative Capabilities: Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and other relevant systems is required. Examples of using technology to streamline program administration, communicate with stakeholders, and maintain high accuracy in reporting and scheduling should be provided.
