About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Health Information Manager/Clinical Coder to join our Coding team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coding discharged patient medical records, participating in unit audit meetings, and developing close working relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Coding of discharged patient medical records using the 3M Codefinder as per Australian Coding Standards.
- Participating in unit audit meetings to review coding and documentation of recently discharged patients.
- Developing close working relationships with key stakeholders to produce timely outcomes.
- Supporting the Operations Manager Coding & Casemix and the Coding Coordinators in implementing strategic initiatives.
- Participating in projects undertaken by the Health Information Services team, including matters relating to new legislation, Government directions, system changes, and business improvement processes.
- A good working knowledge of the Australian Coding Standards, Activity Based Funding, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to work in a team environment.
