Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Systems Management: Manage our financial systems, including accounts payable and receivable, and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and efficiently.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including GST, BAS, and payroll taxes.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyse financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to management.
  • Financial Planning: Assist in developing financial plans and budgets, and provide guidance on financial matters to the business.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards (AASB) and local and national regulations.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations, and share knowledge with the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in accounting or a similar role for at least 3 years is essential.
  • Certifications: Holding a CPA (Certified Practicing Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant) certification is highly desirable.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and tax regulations (GST, PAYG).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
