Job Description

Job Title: Junior School Team Leader

Job Summary:

The Junior School Team Leader will be responsible for leading and managing the student team, with a focus on facilitating forward planning and developing a team-oriented approach to serving the needs of teachers and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the student team to ensure effective teaching and learning
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and achievement
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to teaching staff and the College community
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement programs and practices that support student learning
  • Monitor and assess student learning at a class, cohort, or whole-school level and use data to inform improvement initiatives

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage the implementation of school priorities and the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the planning and implementation of high-impact teaching strategies that respond to student learning needs
  • Demonstrated exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to model behaviors and attitudes consistent with Department values and support colleagues to adopt these behaviors and attitudes

Requirements:

  • Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
  • Qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position
