The role of a Weapons Maintenance Officer is pivotal in ensuring the efficient maintenance and servicing of weapons held by armouries. This position involves delivering training programs, managing financial resources, supervising subordinate staff, and fostering effective relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Demonstrate advanced proficiency and expert knowledge of firearms maintenance for allocation and use in accordance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver large-scale training sessions, focusing on servicing and ongoing maintenance of all weapon categories, often working independently in regional areas.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to manage financial matters associated with mobile capability and service delivery of weapons maintenance to operational police forces within the region.
- Supervise and support subordinate staff to optimize workflow and functions within the armoury.
- Maintain and develop effective working relationships with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders.
- Prepare reports and correspondence to assist armoury coordinators in maintaining inventory and holdings, as well as addressing other organizational needs.
