About the Role

The Central Allocations Unit at Ballarat Health Services has exciting opportunities for Registered Nurses to contribute to our team. As a Mental Health Nurse, you will have the chance to work across various settings, including Adult Acute Units, Access and Triage, Parent and Infant Units, PARC, SECU, and Steel Haughton Unit.

The Central Allocations Unit operates 7 days a week, and we use an electronic rostering system to match staff with shifts based on their availability. To maintain your position, a commitment of 2 shifts per week is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Care for a diverse range of patients and residents in various care settings
  • Provide high-quality, direct care within your scope of practice
  • Complete mental state exams and risk assessments for consumers
  • Administer medication in accordance with governance guidelines
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive patient outcomes
  • Document and update care plans and patient records
  • Communicate effectively with residents, visitors, and staff at all levels
  • Maintain accurate availability in our electronic rostering system
Requirements
  • Prior experience or placement in a Mental Health setting
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain
  • Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain
