About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Developmental Educator to join our team at Everyday Independence. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work with individuals with disabilities and their families to empower them to live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial assessments using evidence-based tools to identify individual needs and goals.
  • Develop and implement person-centered support plans in collaboration with participants, their families, and support teams.
  • Provide social model therapy to break down barriers and enable participants to engage with their community.
  • Build strong relationships with participants, their families, and support teams to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Promote empowerment and independence by facilitating skill development, problem-solving, and capacity building.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Disability (or equivalent) and eligibility for DEAI membership.
  • Suitability assessment and Behaviour Support Practitioner qualification from the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
  • Strong advocacy for removing barriers using the social model of therapy.
  • Empathy, understanding, and open-mindedness when working with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Ability to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children's Check.
  • Valid driver's license.
