We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Rural Generalist Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care in both ward and emergency department settings. This role requires a versatile nurse capable of working effectively across both settings, with expertise in triage and advanced life support.
About the RoleWe have multiple contracts available across Hospital & Health services in QLD, ranging from 4-12 weeks with potential to extended. Duties for this contract include:
- Providing comprehensive nursing care in both ward and emergency department settings.
- Conducting triage assessments and prioritizing patient care based on clinical needs.
- Administering advanced life support (ALS) and pediatric life support (PALS) as required.
- Performing IV cannulation and other clinical procedures.
- Delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a rural healthcare environment.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Documenting patient care accurately and maintaining up-to-date records.
- Supporting and mentoring junior nursing staff and contributing to a positive team environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Senior Rural Generalist RN experience in both ward and emergency department settings.
- Competence in triage assessments.
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
- Current Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Proficiency in IV cannulation.
- Experience in Rural Nursing.
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- AHPRA Registration (must be current).
- Australian National Police Check.
- Australian Immunisation History.
- Additional Mandatory Trainings.
