Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Rural Generalist Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care in both ward and emergency department settings. This role requires a versatile nurse capable of working effectively across both settings, with expertise in triage and advanced life support.

About the Role

We have multiple contracts available across Hospital & Health services in QLD, ranging from 4-12 weeks with potential to extended. Duties for this contract include:

  • Providing comprehensive nursing care in both ward and emergency department settings.
  • Conducting triage assessments and prioritizing patient care based on clinical needs.
  • Administering advanced life support (ALS) and pediatric life support (PALS) as required.
  • Performing IV cannulation and other clinical procedures.
  • Delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a rural healthcare environment.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Documenting patient care accurately and maintaining up-to-date records.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior nursing staff and contributing to a positive team environment.
Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Senior Rural Generalist RN experience in both ward and emergency department settings.
  • Competence in triage assessments.
  • Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
  • Current Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Proficiency in IV cannulation.
  • Experience in Rural Nursing.
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • AHPRA Registration (must be current).
  • Australian National Police Check.
  • Australian Immunisation History.
  • Additional Mandatory Trainings.
