Stantec is a leading consulting engineering firm with a strong presence in Australia, specializing in water infrastructure projects. Our team in Brisbane and Gold Coast offices is currently seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our ranks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking advanced structural engineering design tasks, including the design of water and wastewater structures such as concrete process tanks, pump stations, reservoirs, and associated facilities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing complex structural engineering design tasks under minimal supervision, including the preparation of engineering drawings, reports, presentations, and regulatory applications.
  • Developing project scope, budgets, and design approaches for small-scale projects, and supporting marketing efforts by writing technical proposals and participating in client interviews.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders in client meetings, coordination meetings with internal and external consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors to prepare and coordinate project specifications.
  • Participating in coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors to develop solutions.
  • Applying advanced knowledge of current principles and practices of structural engineering and staying up-to-date with new methods and developments.

To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering, or be working towards RPEQ and/or Chartership. A minimum of 4 years' experience in a consulting engineering practice, involvement in the structural design of civil or industrial infrastructure, and expertise in working with a wide range of clients and stakeholders are also essential.

We offer a competitive salary of $95,000 - $125,000 AUD per annum, depending on experience, along with flexible working arrangements, professional memberships, salary continuance insurance, mental health and wellbeing programs, service recognition awards, and an employee assistance program. About You

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering – with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
  • Holding or working towards RPEQ and / or Chartership is highly regarded.
  • 4 years' experience within a consulting engineering practice.
  • Involvement in the structural design of civil or industrial infrastructure with a focus on concrete and steel.
  • Under the supervision of a national team, willing to develop and expand your structural engineering experience water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Expertise with working with a wide range of clients and stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies and commercial companies.
  • Strong ability to prioritize workloads whilst maintaining strong and trusting work relationships with our clients and colleagues both locally and across the broader Stantec team.
  • Possess a strong problem-solving abilities to develop to ability to develop practical solutions to a variety structural engineering challenges, both at the desktop and in the field.
  • Past site experience, including inspections and construction support would be highly regarded.
