About the Role
  • We are seeking talented graduates to join our Water Advisory & Planning team in Melbourne, Australia.
  • As a Graduate Planner, you will play a key role in project planning and design, site assessments, technical documentation, and collaboration with other disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Planning and Design:
    • Conduct data collection and analysis, hydraulic modeling, GIS/mapping, design drawings, engineering calculations, and reporting for various projects.
    • Participate in the planning phase of projects, including feasibility studies, hydraulic capacity assessments, infrastructure augmentation optioneering, and long-term strategic planning for water and wastewater systems.
    • Support the design of water infrastructure such as pipelines, tanks, pump stations, and treatment plants.
  2. Site Assessments:
    • Conduct site visits to gather data and assess project feasibility/constraints.
    • Analyze environmental, geological, cultural heritage, and survey data to inform project planning.
  3. Technical Documentation:
    • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation for project approvals.
    • Ensure project documentation complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Assist in the preparation of tender submissions.
  4. Collaboration with Other Disciplines:
    • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, environmental, structural, geotechnical, and process engineers.
    • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
    • Support senior engineers in client meetings and presentations.
  5. Professional Development:
    • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
    • Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities.
    • Seek mentorship and guidance from experienced engineers within the organization.
    • Represent the organization and engage with industry bodies such as the Australian Water Association.
About You
  • Currently in the final year of your degree or with 1-2 years of experience.
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Passion for learning and problem-solving.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • A good level of computer literacy, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Eligible to work in Australia.
