Job Title: Sport and Recreation Programs TraineeAbout the Role:

La Trobe University offers a supportive team environment for our trainees to work in.

Our fully funded qualification is the Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation.

You will receive dedicated support from an AFL SportsReady Field Officer to help you achieve your goals.

We also offer one-on-one mentoring support and networking opportunities for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander trainees.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the Regional Sport Coordinator in preparing, promoting, administering, and delivering sport and active recreation programs.

Provide excellent customer service to all patrons, escalating issues to management where necessary.

Attend relevant meetings and training programs to ensure appropriate professional development.

Adhere to and cooperate with all OHS policies and procedures of La Trobe University.

Outcomes:

After completing the traineeship, you may be eligible for entry into higher education degrees or roles such as Leisure Services Customer Service Representative or Local Government Recreation Officer.

Key selection criteria include good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, reliability, punctuality, and being well-presented.

Ability to work under supervision and take direction, as well as working as part of a team.

Personal interest in developing a career in sport-related professions.

Current First Aid Qualification and Employee Working With Children Check required prior to contract commencement.
