Culinary Expert

Salary: AUD70000 - AUD75000 per annum

We are seeking a skilled Chef to join our team at Grewal Singh Family Pty Ltd T/A The Vintage Punjab in Lismore, NSW. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cook food by a range of methods, including preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation.

• Create decorative food displays that impress our customers.

• Maintain a clean and hygienic workstation at all times.

• Evaluate the cost and quantity of supplies, such as food and ingredients, to ensure efficient operation.

• Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure they meet established standards.

• Monitor sanitation practices to maintain compliance with regulations.

• Order or requisition food and other supplies needed to support efficient operation.

• Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in food preparation.

• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff and provide guidance on cooking procedures.

• Prepares food with knowledge of nutritional values of commodities and the effects of cooking on nutritional value of food.

• Ensure the quality of raw and cooked food products meets our standards.

• Verify the quantity and quality of received products for use in food preparation.

• Properly handle electrical equipment used in the kitchen.

• Familiarize yourself with procedures related to food handling, personal hygiene, and general hygiene control in the hospitality industry.

Requirements:

You must have completed a Diploma in Hospitality Management and possess at least 1 year of full-time experience in a similar position. Additionally, you should have experience preparing Indian curry pastes from scratch and cooking over a Tandoori oven.

The annual salary for this role is between $70,000 - $75,000 plus superannuation. Only successful candidates will be contacted.
