Immunology Researcher

Join a team of dedicated researchers in a cutting-edge immunology program at UNSW Sydney. As a postdoctoral fellow, you will have the opportunity to investigate adaptive immune recognition, tolerance, and autoimmunity with direct translational relevance to infection, vaccination, and immune-mediated disease.

The position involves conducting experiments involving B cell and T cell biology using flow cytometry, ELISA, PCR, RNA sequencing, and in vivo models. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate lab records, contributing to collaborative team outputs, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals, and presenting at scientific conferences.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Employing flow cytometry, ELISA, PCR, RNA sequencing, and in vivo models to study immune cell responses.
  • Conducting and analysing experiments involving B cell and T cell biology.
  • Maintaining accurate lab records and contributing to collaborative team outputs.
  • Publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at scientific conferences.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD in Immunology or a related biomedical discipline.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in multi-colour flow cytometry, RNA sequencing, PCR, and molecular cloning.
  • A strong ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Excellent organisational and scientific communication skills.
  • Experience in mouse colony management and autoimmunity research.
  • Bioinformatics skills in analysing transcriptomic or repertoire sequencing data.
  • Previous research in B cell biology or immune tolerance.

This is a full-time (35 hours/week) or part-time considered position with a fixed-term duration of 2 years. You will receive a competitive salary package including:

  • A base salary range of $91,000 - $121,000 AUD per annum.
