Job Description

A rewarding opportunity exists for a skilled Automotive Maintenance Technician to join Des's Cabs Pty Ltd, servicing the needs of our passengers in South Australia.

This role involves working closely with the Workshop Manager to ensure safe and efficient maintenance practices. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and regulations at all times
  • Taking an active role in workshop safety matters, assessing tasks prior to commencement
  • Diagnosing and repairing automotive issues across various systems, including engine, transmission, and electrical
  • Servicing and maintaining taxis and light vehicles to meet the required standards set by the South Australian Government
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and quality checks before returning vehicles to the road
  • Roadworthy testing and ensuring accurate paperwork is maintained
  • Liaising effectively with Government Inspectors, Management, and Drivers regarding various matters
  • Providing guidance to apprentices and work experience students, while promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to tool storage procedures, and reporting damaged items
Requirements
  • Trade Qualified Mechanic certification (at least Cert III in Automotive)
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working within the passenger transport industry
  • Possession of a current driver's license with a minimum HR class
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good record-keeping abilities

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of AUD 60,000 - 80,000 per annum, reflecting the level of responsibility and expertise required for this role.
