About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food Services Assistant to join our team at VMCH. As a key member of our food services team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality catering services to our residents.

Your focus will be on preparing and serving nutritious meals, snacks, and refreshments that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents. You will work closely with our team to ensure that our residents receive exceptional care and service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals, snacks, and refreshments in accordance with our menu plans and dietary requirements.
  • Present food in an appealing manner and to a high-quality visual standard.
  • Ensure that all food is handled, stored, and served safely and hygienically.
  • Work collaboratively with our team to provide excellent customer service to our residents.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Food Safety Certificate Level I (HLTFSE001) or progression towards the completion of a Food Safety Certificate.
  • Previous experience working in a food services environment and/or at an aged care facility.
  • Patience, common sense, and a strong ethos of client service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and to work with minimum supervision.

The successful candidate will need to be flexible and available to work across the day, afternoon, and evening shifts.
