Executive Chef

The Role

The Head Chef will lead our catering department, ensuring that our residents receive a high-quality dining experience every day. Our kitchens are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, and our chefs use only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients to create innovative and nutritious menu options.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing the catering team, ensuring that our kitchen operations meet the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee kitchen operations across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service
• Conduct staff management, including rostering, attendance, training, development, and performance needs
• Oversee special catering events and provide culinary instruction and/or demonstrations
• Ensure kitchen meets all safety, regulatory, and professional compliance standards
• Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and safety and sanitation in the kitchen
• Ensure staff maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and comply with the Food Safety Program
• Ensure regular cleaning of all areas is maintained by catering employees within the kitchen as per Schedule and Food Safety Program

About You

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head Chef who possesses a minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery qualification and Food Safety/Hygiene certification. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading catering operations in hotels or aged care, with a demonstrated ability to lead a team and coach and mentor others.

The successful candidate will also possess high-level written and verbal communication skills, well-developed computer and documentation skills, and demonstrated organisational and time management skills.
