Family Law Specialist Role

We are seeking an experienced Family Law Specialist to join our team as Special Counsel. This exciting opportunity will allow you to shape and expand the firm's family law presence in Queensland, backed by a strong, collaborative national support network.

As a Family Law Specialist, you will guide clients through significant personal and financial life changes, working on everything from complex financial agreements to sensitive parenting matters. You'll deliver strategic legal advice and strong client advocacy, with dedicated support from colleagues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on separation, divorce, and de facto relationships
  • Negotiating and drafting binding financial agreements, including pre- and post-nuptial agreements
  • Handling complex property settlements involving businesses, companies, and trusts
  • Representing clients in parenting disputes, custody, residency, and child support matters
  • Managing spouse maintenance, same-sex relationship issues, and property disputes
  • Preparing matters for mediation and court, including briefing counsel on high-value cases

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in family law, with proven expertise across both property and parenting matters. They will be practical and commercially minded, with excellent technical skills and the ability to manage complex client relationships with empathy and professionalism.
