Business Platform Engineering Leader Role

We seek an experienced Business Platform Engineering Leader to drive technical strategy, architecture, and delivery cadence across Workday systems. This role plays a critical part in enabling business operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading and coaching a cross-functional engineering team behind Canva's Workday Platform
  • Defining the technical strategy, architecture, and delivery cadence across Workday systems
  • Partnering with leaders in People, Finance, Security, and Audit to deliver secure, scalable solutions
  • Owning Workday integrations and driving platform-wide engineering excellence
  • Elevating service reliability, documentation, observability, and overall quality

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience leading cross-functional technical teams in systems/platform engineering
  • Deep, hands-on Workday experience including architecture, integrations, and delivery cycles
  • Experience working in regulated environments (SOX, ITGC, Payroll, Audit)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to bridge technical and business perspectives

About the Team:

This role is part of the Business Platform Group, which powers core business operations. The Workday Platform Team owns the technical architecture, integrations, controls, and delivery of our Workday platform. You will be leading a team critical to internal scale and employee experience.
