Commerce Architect

This is an exciting opportunity to lead commerce architecture in pre-sales efforts, collaborating with sales, product strategists, and technical leads to shape winning responses for Shopify Plus and broader commerce opportunities.

  • Understand client needs and design fit-for-purpose commerce solutions, balancing off-the-shelf features, custom development, and third-party integrations.
  • Develop technical vision documents, high-level solution architectures, estimates, and delivery strategies that align with business requirements and platform capabilities.

Key responsibilities include owning the commerce architecture for pitches and early-stage projects and working with delivery teams to ensure a smooth handover and strong foundation for success.

Requirements
  • Strong awareness of the Shopify roadmap and ecosystem (apps, payments, POS, B2B features, Hydrogen/Storefront API, etc.).
  • Ability to represent DEPT in industry discussions around composable commerce, headless, Shopify vs alternatives, omnichannel, and more.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and non-technical stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who can maintain a strong connection between the sales and delivery teams, ensuring seamless transition and successful project outcomes.
