This role is pivotal to delivering exceptional services by ensuring equipment inspections are carried out effectively across various heavy industrial and mining sites. The DGI Reliability Specialist Trainee assists experienced technicians in completing their tasks efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting experienced technicians with equipment condition inspections on heavy industrial and mine sites
  • Gaining experience using advanced testing methods such as ECA (Eddy Current Array) and UT (Ultrasonic Testing)
  • Completing assigned competency and qualification training modules to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Ensuring equipment setup, calibration, and functionality for each inspection
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment and performing general maintenance tasks as instructed
  • Preparing reports, time sheets, and expenses after site visits

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background, aptitude, and experience using power and hand tools. A commitment to developing a career in the mining industry is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also required to effectively interact with colleagues. Additional requirements include:

  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to undertake repetitive tasks while maintaining high attention to detail
  • Positive and proactive approach to safety with ability to communicate effectively with other employees
  • Ability to travel to remote areas for extended periods at short notice and willingness to work at heights and in confined spaces
