Purchasing Officer Position

Our organisation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Officer to fill a key role within our operations. The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, great interpersonal abilities and a proactive attitude.

  • Manage the procurement process from inception to completion, ensuring all necessary steps are taken to secure high-quality suppliers and subcontractors;
  • Evaluate quotations and negotiate prices to ensure competitiveness;
  • BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS TO DRIVE SUCCESSFUL OUTCOMES;
  • Tender for projects and provide recommendations for capital and overhead expenditure;
  • Authorise project expenditure within allocated budgets;
  • Develop KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs) TO MEASURE ORGANISATIONAL REQUIREMENTS IN KEY AREAS;
  • Evaluate certificates of compliance for work cover and public liability insurance to ensure validity;
  • Assist in preparing and coordinating monthly cost reporting meetings for supervisor projects.

  • A strong educational background in Purchasing, Procurement or Construction is preferred;
  • The ability to establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders is essential;
