Role Overview
Berry Street's Residential Care Program provides a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people aged 10 to 17 who have experienced trauma, neglect, and abuse. As a Youth Residential Care Specialist, you will work collaboratively with a dedicated team to deliver high-quality therapeutic care and support the young people's growth and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement current best practice therapeutic interventions and program guidelines to ensure the highest standard of care and child safety.
- Work collaboratively within a team to deliver therapeutic care and support the young people's educational, social, and recreational pursuits.
- Create a safe and nurturing home environment, including managing household duties and providing nutritious meals.
Requirements
- A minimum Cert IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or equivalent qualification is required.
- Strong communication skills, active listening, and a commitment to maintaining professional boundaries.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to multitask with ease.
