This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of visual storytelling and video production. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of creating engaging and high-quality video content that resonates with audiences.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Pitching, researching, reporting, and scripting news videos and packages;
  • Managing video production from ideation to post-production, ensuring timely delivery under tight deadlines;
  • Having a keen eye for creative ways to tell stories in keeping with the latest off-platform video trends;
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the newsroom and wider company to identify opportunities to produce audience-first videos across multiple platforms;
  • Ensuring that all journalistic and legal standards are followed;
  • Having a strong understanding of social video platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, and being proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Some experience as a creative storyteller who is technically proficient in shooting and editing video content;
  • Proficiency in operating professional video cameras, including knowledge of framing, composition, and lighting techniques;
  • Some technical skills in troubleshooting and maintaining camera equipment;
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a team;
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to take direction.
