Job Overview

This is a leadership role within our Mine Production Surface team. Our team is responsible for underground backfilling processes, surface drilling, quarry operations, and surface material movements at the Olympic Dam Mine.

The successful candidate will lead a team of production engineers to provide technical support to the production execution team.

Key responsibilities include leading teams, providing coaching, ensuring compliance with routine systems, preparing inputs for production plans, working collaboratively to achieve departmental targets, identifying capability gaps, implementing improvement opportunities, compiling reports, providing expertise, and maintaining improvement initiative portfolios.

About This Role
  • The ideal candidate will possess a tertiary qualification in mining, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, business improvement, or another related field.
  • They must be able to influence others to drive outcomes and work effectively within a dynamic environment.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to lead teams are essential.
  • The candidate should be able to set direction and solve problems from bottom up.
  • They should also have learning agility and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience in backfill (paste/CAF), open pit mining, or quarry operations would be beneficial.
