Senior Editor Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Editor to join our team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for bringing best-in-class publishing to market on time, managing multiple projects from manuscript to finished copy, and collaborating with authors, agents, and freelancers.

The ideal candidate will have excellent editorial skills, a keen eye for detail, and experience in project management, communication, and organizational skills. They will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to the demands of managing multiple schedules.

About the Role:
  • Project Management: Proactive management of projects from manuscript to finished copy.
  • Editing: Structural and line-editing, as well as evaluating submissions and preparing acquisition plans.
  • Liaising: Collaboration with authors, agents, and freelancers.
  • Brainstorming: Contribution to discussions on new acquisitions and reporting on submissions.
About You:
  • Degree in English, Literature, or related field (desired).
  • Proven experience in editorial roles, preferably within the book and entertainment industries.
  • Excellent editorial, communication, project management, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with software applications, such as Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
