\This is a senior role in Sydney, NSW, AU.
\As a Principal Data Scientist, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge AI solutions to accelerate business growth and strategic priorities.
\The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen along with demonstrable experience in using Generative AI, Deep Learning, and Machine Learning to deliver high-quality solutions.

- Upskill AI and data science practitioners and enhance capabilities in key techniques such as prompt design, RAG, fine-tuning, agentic AI frameworks.\
- Collaborate with technology and engineering teams to design and build standardized AI assets applicable across the team.\
- Actively partner with internal AI and data science teams and external partners to share knowledge, best practices and bring the best of AI led impact to the organisation.\
- Develop and communicate a strategic vision for AI initiatives, aligning them with organisational goals and driving the overall AI strategy.\
- Lead the development of innovative solutions to complex organisational problems, leveraging advanced technical knowledge and specialist expertise.\
- Enhance customer experiences and simplify internal processes through the design, development, and integration of AI technologies.\
- Optimise product offerings through the application of AI.\
- Ensure expertise in tools and establish best practices for monitoring, testing, and validating AI solutions.\
- Manage risks associated with AI-related activities.\
- Identify opportunities for improving AI capabilities and drive their implementation.\

- Develop and maintain partnerships with vendors and suppliers to source AI tools and services.\
- Partner with universities and research institutions to stay ahead of industry trends and access emerging talent.\
- Identify and pursue opportunities to advance the organisation's AI strategy and ambitions.\
- Continuously monitor and improve the AI maturity of the organisation.\
- Develop and execute plans to increase AI literacy and capability across the organisation.\
- Establish and maintain a Centre of Excellence for AI to drive innovation and improvement.\
- Develop and lead AI-related training programs to equip staff with necessary skills and knowledge.\
Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Leadership and Coordination: Proven experience in leading high-performing multidisciplinary teams with Gen AI, predictive ML and data science skill sets.\
- Technical Skills and Tools: Expertise includes Generative AI Hands-On Delivery Experience, prompt engineering, RAG, guardrail design, orchestration design, and familiarity with frameworks like Semantic Kernel and LangGraph.\
- Machine Learning: Expertise in designing and constructing machine learning models, including feature engineering, model selection, hyperparameter tuning, model evaluation, and deployment of predictive models.\
- Tooling: Hands-on experience with Deep Learning, GenAI and data science tools such as Spark, Python, R, TensorFlow, PyTorch, SQL, and key AWS integration packages.\
- AI Platforms: Demonstrated experience in developing, deploying, and monitoring Deep Learning, Gen AI and AI models on AWS infrastructures, including Bedrock, SageMaker, Knowledge Base, and OpenSearch.\
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.\
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business operations, with the ability to develop and communicate a strategic vision for AI initiatives.\
- Problem-Solving: Ability to apply creative problem-solving skills to address complex challenges.\
